Spooky!
Okay, so God love my mother-in Law.
About 2 years ago when they were packing up their house for the big move to Nebraska, they decided to give us a few things.
A big blow up waving Santa for the front yard (which the kids love), a few wonderful keepsakes from them and from Mike's Grandma and, well...........
THIS!

Is this thing seriously creepy or what?

If you think it looks creepy, you should hear it talk!
Actually, you should have heard the blood curdling scream when Sydney found it at the tender age of 1.
We just this year brought it down from the attic (in the daylight) and the kids seem to be okay with it.
What do you think?

Happy Fall!!!

Cupcakes 101
Little Miss Sydney and I had the day off together on Friday, so I asked her what she wanted to do.
"Lets make cupcakes with 'frostine' and sprinkles."
Sounded like a good plan. So we did.
(But first we had to put on her shirt with cupcakes and frosting and sprinkles on it!)
First we start by putting liners in the muffin pan.

Then we have to make sure our trusty pink spatula is handy.

So we start out by getting together all of the ingredients:
1 box of cake mix (duh--we don't do scratch)
eggs, oil and water.

Then we dump the "gredients" in one by one and mix it up really good.

Then we get to lick the spatula.

Then the beaters!

Then we whine for the next 20 minutes "are they done yet?"
(This comes in 2 to 3 minute increments.)
I explain for the hundreth time that they need to cook.
Yay! They are done. Finally
Oh No! They need to cool. Add more whining!
Go change shirt, cuz its covered in chocolate cake batter!
Next, we frost (yes, from a can) and sprinkle liberally!
While mommy runs to get the camera to show off the finished product----
I think I'll take a dip in the frosting can, cuz all this waiting has made me hungry!

Can I just EAT one now, please, mommy?

I can't wait any longer. I'm just gonna take a little swipe from this here cupcake.

YUM YUM YUM!!!!

Saturday at Mote
We went to Mote Marine this past weekend. Sadly the kids have never been there before, and this place is basically in our back yard! I got four tickets from a sweet patient for Christmas. (Yes, I said Christmas)!!
First stop: Nemo and Dory.

Next up: Buffett (as in Warren) the manatee. Although I think Buffet (as in food trough) would be appropriate!

Zach "petting" the sting rays (sans barbs). They were friendly and slimy!

Zach says "This shark is sooooo cool!"
Sydney says " I don't want my picture taken in front of a big nasty hammerhead shark!"
(Caught in local waters--ugh!)

Sydney and Daddy checking out a toadfish.

So this is what a fish tank looks like from underneath!

Sydney loved the little crabbies.

We had a Blast!!
